Decision made, hotel booked. We went cheap and are staying at the Flamingo. It's close to the expo & finish. Plus being cheap it gives us more $ for shopping and margaritas.

Beside it also has no resort fees and there's a margarita bar right downstairs. BananaWootBananaWootBananaWoot

I went even cheaper. Staying at Imperial Palace Thu-Mon. The location is right at the finish line and they have $2 Modelos. It's under construction so I'll see what I got myself into.

RE: The "Where are they staying" thread

Interesting that we all staying a different places this year.

Since the finish is not at Mandalay this year, I propose we have the after race party closer to the finish, preferably at a bar that a beer is not twice the price of a gallon of gas. Maybe the Breeze Bar at Treasure Island?????

Slowpole events into the future:

Marathons: Mardi Gras 2/24/13, Colorado 5/13/13?, LVM 11/17/13

Tri's:  Leon's World Fastest Tri Olympic 6/2/13?, Beach 2 Battleship Ironman 10/26/13

Hmmm... Not sure about the upscale casual! There are other bars there or even at the Mirage or Harrah's perhaps.

RE: The "Where are they staying" thread

May have to research a little, I wonder if one of the smaller places might be cheaper? And crossing the strip might be hard in some places.
If it's close to the finish I'll have to attend in running gear wearing my big gaudy glow in the dark medal! since it would be too hard to go to the Excal and come back. And I'll need my ID in case I get carded.
