Year 10 - What year was your favorite LVM thus far and why?

I'm thinking it was #2 for me (2006). I jot down some brief notes after each marathon and here are mine from that year:

Our first LVM21 pasta party at Battista’s
Having to run part of the way from Caesers to the start to get there on time
Running some with Ramrod and MJSull
Running with Oaks (LVM21 member) down the stretch
Five porta-john breaks during the race – four were #2
Alberto running his 1st, Vicki running a PR
Grandma getting hospitalized, Rick & Debbie at finish, Bill & Jeanne in Vegas

As you can see, not all things were great (PR on potty breaks and Grandma going to the hospital), but it was great that lots of my family made it that year, including the Vickster PR'ing and her future husband running his first. It was also great getting together with my new extended family as well - my LVM friends.

Marathons:Wineglass 10/1, LVM 11/12
1/2 Marathons: TBD
Other: MI Titanium Half Iron Tri 8/20

RE: Year 10 - What year was your favorite LVM thus far and why?

I'm horrible at remembering dates and names , but I have a lot of good memories from a lot of races:
1. One of the early ones, seeing Angie ahead of me and almost catching up to her.
2. The year a bunch of us ran the Santa run downtown.
3. The Eye Candy years
4. Seeing Lisa and her group run the full.
5. That year we had the cake at the Hampton. I fell down on the way back to my hotel and had a knot on my knee so bad I couldn't wear jeans the rest of the weekend. But I had a good race because I was afraid it was going to burst or something before I could finish.
6. Lots of hugs.
7. That year (2012?) where the full caught up to the half and it was just a giant cluster. Almost died in the Mandalay Bay.

I'm sure there's a lot more

My last place award with Age Group award

Next: Nov 22 Tulsa, Dec. 13 Tulsa double half, January

2nd year where I finally broke 4 hours was my favorite.

3rd year was fun when I tried to get Tofield in under 4 hours and realized I'm a horrible motivator.

The year Lisa did her first marathon was memorable with the iCandy after party. Everybody was extremely friendly...

The 1st year of the half where Trihumor and I stopped in to play a little blackjack downtown. The after party was just me and Eric for the longest time, until survivors from the Mandalay Bay crush-fest trickled in and then we searched desperately for food.

Last year when the Shannonator came in 8th overall and still hung out with us slugs at the after party. Sitting on some slot machine chairs drinking contraband beers.

Randy, your list is almost identical to mine. I'd only add the year Ramrod and I both pulled up lame around half way thru the full marathon. As walking wounded we somehow made it through to the finish. Although we both had disappointing times I'll always remember getting to know him better and sharing in our misery, pain, and triumph at the finish.

Oh, and how could I forget the Hash House Harrier Red Dress year. All of you LVM21ers who participated were great sports!
