RE: May 2015

My marathon went really well. I'm still thinking if I should write a race report. I hope Angie is OK. Haven't heard from her for awhile.

RE: May 2015

Hope everyone is well, i"ve been exploring life without internet, except for my phone. With the weather we've had also spent lots of time without electricity, so no TV either. But we're only expected to get another foot or so of rain this weekend, so maybe it will dry out soon and life will return to normal.

My last place award with Age Group award

Next: Nov 22 Tulsa, Dec. 13 Tulsa double half, January
Waco 50K

RE: May 2015

Aw, thanks Dean. I'm sorry I've not been around much, just busy with life and too many places to post to. Plus I felt like I didn't have a lot to report anyway. Well, in the last few weeks, I have done two 1mile runs. It is 8 months post surgery and although it was very slow (13 minute mile) it was pain free and I loved it. I'm trying to get back into a regular workout routine and will try to do my 1 mile every other day or so. I'm going to take it very slow. Overall I feel good, I'm mowing the lawn with the push mower, doing gardening work, it's nice to feel back to normal. I don't know how much I'll be able to run as time goes on but right now I'm pleased with my 1 mile :)

Looks like you all are doing well. Maybe now that school is almost out, I can remember to stop in here more often again. Thanks for asking about me.

RE: May 2015

First week to do speed work per my plan for Idaho (9/5). Decided to run a 5k instead of intervals on the track. So on Memorial Day (my birthday this year), I ran my best 5k in 14 years and finished 2nd in my age group (by 2 seconds!). So my BQ training plan is off to a good start!

RE: May 2015

May is done, though it's hard to believe that with the weather we had here today. Cold, windy and rainy all day long. Finally, the rain stopped about 5 pm, so I was able to get my planned 6 mile run in without getting wet and cold.

First the first time this year, I did not set a new monthly mileage record. Boo. I did get in about 144 miles so it wasn't too bad. After the Colorado marathon, I took it easy running about 2 miles each day just to keep my streaking going for Shirley. Now on to June.
