Thanks Dean. Indeed we are under 2 weeks now. I look forward to this race as it is the first one since last year I won't be pushing myself all out. Will try to really enjoy the experience this time and focus on what's happening all around me and not on my pace, how I feel, etc.

More than that, I look forward to seeing a lot of great people!

RE: November 2015

6 miles today in a terrible wind, guess I'm ready for Vegas. Leave tomorrow night. Then it's Vegas, Tulsa the next week, and back to Tulsa in mid-December.

RE: November 2015

My time in Vegas was 5:35, actually a little slower than last year. Gonna have to address that this year, I'd rather just run the half than get cut off the course.

RE: November 2015

Had a great time (not running time) in Vegas. Was great to see everyone! Good turnout and one heck of a party after the race at the party suite! Now some minimal running for a month until Boston training begins. Hopefully my achilles will be ready then. Will do lots of swimming and spinning to maintain fitness.

RE: November 2015

Completed my 80th race Sunday, Tulsa Route 66. This is always fun, used to be my final long run before Vegas, now it's the week after and I usually suffer a little. Definitely some growing pains for this race, they have really recruited Maniacs and Fanatics, about 900 more in the full this year. Even with very strict corral controls, the first couple miles are really crowded. The expo was affected too, I have never seen a line at an expo, this one was 45 minutes or more on Friday night.

Race itself was hard, I was done about mile 5, took a gel and went to the bathroom, shed some layers and just settled down to finish. Almost ran a negative split, with the Center of the Universe detour finished at 6:12, even for me a very slow time. But the weather was perfect after the start, and there are some just beautiful neighborhoods on the course. But people continue to be surprised by the hills, not sure why. It's just rolling along most of the course so it's not easy.
