RE: January 2016

O.K. I got knocked out by the stomach flu. Slowly recovering. Hopefully I'll feel better this weekend.

RE: January 2016

Ran the Post Oak Trail Marathon in Tulsa, just a brutal race. They lost access to some of the area so they had to go to 4 loops, but since each loop ended going up the "Hill from Hell" it was really hard. At least this year I wasn't last, just next to last. It was hot and just up and down all day.

RE: January 2016

I'm still having trouble running more then six miles a day. But it is now taking me about 12 minutes a mile. Before it was about 14 minutes.

RE: January 2016

Just checking in, I have the Arbuckles to Ardmore Marathon coming up Sunday, it's very deceiving because it looks like such a downhill. In reality, the first 3 miles are uphill, then a long downhill that turns into just rolling hills. Usually it's hot and most of the race is into a south wind, but the forecast is for cool and a north wind so I'm hoping for a better day.

RE: January 2016

Back home from California and in my peak week of training for Boston. Training has gone well and I was able to get almost all my runs in despite 8 days of driving back and forth and enjoying my new grandson. Did some good altitude training in Colorado where we stopped for a few days on the way out and back to visit our son (IceNuts) and his wife. Then in Mission Viejo and surrounding area I got some good hill training in the whole time. I could not find a flat spot there. Got some hot, chilly, wet, snowy and windy weather training - just about everything to prepare, except high humidity. I can say now that my achilles seems to be fully healed and I feel I am running on 2 legs now for a change. Once I get by this week, the tapering begins though the training is still pretty intense for about 10 more days after this weekend. Getting excited!

RE: January 2016

I can't wait for that race report!
I'm starting to feel better, but since the race is five weeks away I'll probably run out of time.

RE: January 2016

Ouch!
My left knee started to hurt at mile 18. Painful to run, but no pain walking. Also no swelling.
